When parenting orders aren't followed
Orders only work if they're followed.
If there are parenting orders in place and the other parent breaks them without a reasonable excuse, you can file a contravention application in the Federal Circuit and Family Court. The court can order make-up time, a parenting program, a fine or, in serious cases, stronger penalties. Before filing, we look at whether a letter, mediation or a change to the orders would fix the problem faster.
